After leveling the series following a win in an eight-over match, it was an opportunity for India to win the series in the third match. The same opportunity however was also for Australia to grab. India started off in a positive fashion as skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to chase.

Having been invited to set up a target, the visiting team started off in a sensational manner as Cameron Green hit Indian ballers all across the ground. In just 21 balls the right-hand batter hit 52 runs and put India on the backfoot early on.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar however brought India back with a short ball that dismissed the hard hitter. Australi struggled from then on and found themselves struggling at 117/6 at one point. It was the lower order batters Tim David (54) and Daniel Sams (28*) who brought the visitors back into the game and took them to a massive 186/7.

Coming onto chase the big total, India struggled at 30/2 with both openers out. It was Virat Kohli (63) and Suryakumar Yadav (69) who strung up an important partnership and got India on the verge of a win.

There was another twist in the tale however as Yadav and Kohli both got out in crunch situations. Hardik Pandya (25*) came up as the match winner again and took the team across the finish line. In the end, India won the match by six wickets and ended the series on a high.

With this win, India clinch the series by 2-1 and have downed the negativity of the Asia Cup loss a little.
