Talking about the action of the match, Chennai Super Kings posted a big total of 226 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs while batting first. The veteran opener Devon Conway played a swashbuckling knock of 83 runs off just 45 balls with six boundaries and the same number of sixes with the wood. Other than him, the young batter Shivam Dube also contributed with the blistering knock of 52 runs off just 27 balls with two boundaries and five sixes to his name.

Other than these two, the senior batter Ajinkya Rahane also played a quick cameo of 37 runs off just 20 balls with three boundaries and two sixes on his credit. All the bowlers who bowled for RCB in the first innings scalped one wicket for their team.

While chasing the target, the hosts faced two early blows in the form of Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror only on the team’s total score of 15 runs. From there, the experienced pair of skipper, Faf du Plessis, and veteran all-rounder Glenn Maxwell stitched a crucial partnership of 126 runs for the third wicket. Maxwell played an amazing knock of 76 runs off just 36 balls with three boundaries and eight sixes to his name. Whereas Faf scored 62 runs off 33 balls with five boundaries and four sixes to his name.

But these knocks went in vain as Royal Challengers Bangalore could score 218 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by runs.
