'Better you deliver'- Twitter users disappointed with Shubman Gill's run out against Punjab

Hardik Pandya's Gujarat are currently playing against Punjab in the 48th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. Gujarat opted to bat first in the encounter, but they did not have a good start. Shubman Gill (nine runs in six balls) was involved in an unfortunate run out in the third over of the game.

Trying to steal a quick single, Gill took off, but Rishi Dhawan's direct hit was quicker. Gill stood in the middle with disappointment as he felt Sandeep Sharma, the bowler, came in his way while taking the run. Gujarat lost their first wicket after scoring just 17 runs.

"@ShubmanGill is gone with irresponsible running.. @gujarat_titans please drop Shubman Gill. Early wickets in powerplay will not help you in playoffs. Try someone like @RGurbaz_21 with Saha in opening..." a disappointed fan tweeted after the runout.

The 22-year-old has struggled with the bat this season. Although he has played a few good knocks, he hasn't been consistent. Gill has scored 260 runs in nine matches at an average of 28.89. However, a majority of his runs have come in two innings. He scored 84 runs against Delhi and 96 runs in Gujarat's earlier encounter against Punjab.

Speaking of the ongoing game against Punjab, the Hardik Pandya-led team did not have the best of starts. They lost early wickets, which put them in a tough situation. The Gujarat-based franchise scored 56 runs in the first nine overs, but lost three wickets in the process. After Shubman Gill, the in-form Wriddhiman Saha (21 runs off 17) and Hardik Pandya (10 runs off 14 balls) departed soon.
