Batting first, the Caribbean side posted a big total of 374 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Nicholas Pooran smashed a brilliant century and scored 104 runs off just 65 balls with nine boundaries and six sixes to his name. Other than him, opener Brandon King also played a crucial knock of 76 runs.
While chasing the target, the Dutchmen happened to put an astonishing run chase on the plate; middle-order batter Teja Nidamanuru smashed an amazing century of 111 runs off just 76 balls with 11 boundaries and three sixes to his name. On the back of these knocks, Netherlands ended up scoring the same total of 374 runs for the loss of nine wickets after the entire 50 overs, and the match ended in a tie.
Skipper Edwards opted to go with Logan Van Beek for batting in the super over; the latter smashed the 30 runs of veteran Caribbean bowler Jason Holder with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. Later on, Van Beek took the charge from the front and took two wickets of West Indies while defending the target in the super over.
