Jaydev Unadkat’s career has been topsy-turvy so far. One minute he is one of the highest-paid bowlers, the other he is struggling to get into the national side- such has been his story so far.

The left-arm pacer disheartened with the lack of opportunities tweeted, “Dear red ball, please give me one more chance..I’ll make you proud, promise!”

The left-arm pacer was brought back into the Indian Test team on the back of his sensational domestic cricket performance. Unadkat has taken 356 wickets in 97 First class matches. Additionally, he has also taken 168 wickets in 116 List A matches. As for T20, his wickets tally stands at 210 in 170 matches.

Inclusion in the national side, however, seems to have given a boost to the bowler's confidence and he is wreaking havoc on the Ranji batters. Currently the 31-year-old is playing against Delhi and is raining hellfire on the Delhi batters.

In the first over of the match itself, Unadkat took a sensational hattrick getting Dhruv Shorey, Vaibhav Rawal, and Yash Dhull out on the last three balls. He did not stop there. Currently, the Porbandar-born bowler has taken 6 wickets in his 6 overs having given just 16 runs in the Ranji match against Delhi.

Unadkat’s feat made him the first-ever bowler to bag a hat trick in the very first over of a Ranji match. Naturally, the fans have been mightily impressed by Unadkat’s sensational bowling spell in the Ranji Trophy match.

One Twitter user by the name Neeran Karnik wrote, “Jaydev Unadkat has just destroyed the Delhi batting lineup..reduced them to 10 for 7 wickets, six of those taken by Unadkat himself, including a first over hat-trick! So happy to see him assert himself after all the mockery he’s endured from shallow cricket “fans”!”

Many are also asking for him to be added into the Border- Gavaskar Trophy squad against Austarlia.
