Chennai Super Kings (CSK) overcame Gujarat Titans (GT) during Qualifier 1 in order to advance to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final for the tenth time in their 14-season history. CSK once again demonstrated why they are a tough opponent at home. With his on-field strategy, CSK skipper MS Dhoni was absolutely fantastic as every choice he made paid off against the defending champs. While Dhoni's field placements proved truly something of a work of art and it appeared as though he understood the batters’ minds prior to each and every ball along with that his use of his bowlers was as effective as it could be. 

The renowned captain once again proved on Tuesday night that captaincy matters even in fast-paced T20 cricket. MS Dhoni's on-field strategies were never in question. The CSK supporters as well as admirers desire Dhoni to continue managing the team for as many seasons as he can in the lucrative league since it is only the MS magic which makes things happen on their own.

It is inevitable that MS Dhoni will retire. It will happen sooner or later, and during the post-game interview, Dhoni was once again questioned about his future plans by popular commentator and cricket expert Harsha Bhogle. He replied in his own swagger by saying, “I don't know. I have 8-9 months to decide. The small auction will be around December. So why to take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide. But I will always be there for CSK, whether it's in the playing form or sitting somewhere outside.”

The World Cup-winning skipper MS Dhoni also disclosed that he must begin his preparations for the competition far in advance since his body suffers greatly. He said, “I don't really know. Frankly, it takes a heavy toll. I have been out of home for literally four months now. January 31 was the time when I got out of work. It takes a lot, but I have ample time to decide.”
