Indian T20 League 2023 is just a few days away now, the tournament will start with the first match between the defending champions Gujarat and four-time champions Chennai. One of the prime headlines ahead of the commencement of the tournament is none other than the former legendary Indian skipper and current Chennai skipper, MS Dhoni.

Fans are speculating that it could be the last season of the Indian T20 League for Dhoni; he has led the team to win four title wins in the history of the tournament so far. Meanwhile, the star Chennai pacer Deepak Chahar has come up with a recent statement on MS Dhoni’s stint with Chennai in the Indian T20 League.

“No one has said it's MS Dhoni's final year. Hopefully, he'll play more. We want him to play as much as he can,” said Chahar to News India Sports.

Although this statement from Chahar drew a lot of hilarious reactions from the fans; they took to Twitter to troll him for speculating about Dhoni’s career in the Indian T20 League instead of focusing on his own active international career.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Here’s a look at the squad of Chennai for the Indian T20 League 2023:

MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, Subhranshu Senapati, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Dwaine Pretorius, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, Mukesh Choudhary, Matheesha Pathirana, Simarjeet Singh, Prashant Solanki, Maheesh Theekshana, Ajinkya Rahane, Ben Stokes, Shaik Rasheed, Nishant Sindhu, Kyle Jamieson, Ajay Mandal, and Bhagath Varma.

Notably, Chennai didn’t have an expected season last year in the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League; firstly the team started the tournament under the captaincy of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja but in the later part of the tournament, MS Dhoni took over the captaincy again from Jadeja. Although the damage had been done by then as the team lost 6 matches out of the 8 matches they played.
