Bangalore and Gujarat locked horns in the 6th match of the Women’s T20 League at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Gujarat skipper Sneh Rana won the toss and decided to bat first. The top-order batters proved the skipper’s decision absolutely right and helped the team to post a big total of 201 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
While chasing the target, Smriti Mandhana’s Bangalore failed to chase down the target and could score only 190 runs for the loss of six wickets. It was the third consecutive defeat for Bangalore in the ongoing edition of the Women’s T20 League.

Speaking of the entire action of the match, Gujarat got an early blow in the form opener Sabbhineni Meghana on the team’s total score of 22 runs. But later on, Sophia Dunkley and Harleen Deol stitched a brilliant partnership of 60 runs for the second wicket. Sophia played a blistering knock of 65 runs off just 28 balls with 11 boundaries and three sixes to her name. Other than her, Harleen also contributed with the brilliant knock of 67 runs off 45 balls with nine boundaries and a six on her credit. On the back of these knocks, Sneh Rana’s girls posted an amazing total of 201 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
Heather Knight and Shreayanka Patil were the only bowlers for Bangalore in the first innings to scalp two wickets each by conceding 32 and 17 runs in 4 and 2 overs respectively.
While chasing the target, the opening pair of skipper Smriti Mandhana provided a good start to RCB by scoring 54 runs for the first wicket; but Smriti failed once again to live up to her stature and could score only 18 runs before falling prey to Ashleigh Gardner.
Sophie Devine played an intent fully and struggled to knock off 66 runs off 45 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes with the wood. But her efforts went in vain as Bangalore could score only 190 runs for the loss of six wickets in the entire 20 overs and lost the match by 11 runs.
Star all-rounder Gardner scalped by conceding 31 runs in her spell of four overs. Other than her, Annabel Sutherland claimed two wickets alongside Mansi Joshi who scalped one wicket.
