Pakistan are currently busy playing the two-match home Test series against New Zealand. Earlier this month, England humiliated the Men in Green at home when they whitewashed them 3-0 in the three-match Test series in Pakistan. It was a massive blow to Babar Azam and his men in order to get qualified for the final of the World Test Championship.

Fans were also not happy with the former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja and Babar Azam’s captaincy. After that, the Pakistan Cricket Board sacked Ramiz Raja and appointed Najam Sethi as the new Chairman. Then, he also appointed former cricketer Shahid Afridi as the interim chief selector for this series. However, Pakistan made a surprising call by dropping Mohammad Rizwan

New Zealand scored 157 runs without losing any wickets against Pakistan on day two

They went with Sarfaraz Ahmed as he made a comeback to the team after a gap of nearly four years. Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bat first. The home side ended day one on high when they scored 317 runs for five wickets in 90 overs. Sarfaraz Ahmed made a memorable comeback as he scored 86 runs off 153 balls, including nine fours. Babar Azam finished the day after scoring 161 runs. But, on day two, he failed to add to his overnight score. He was dismissed for 161 runs off 280 balls, including 15 fours and one six.

Then, Agha Salman batted well and notched up his maiden Test ton. He scored 103 runs off 155 balls, including 17 fours. Finally, they got bundled out for 438 runs in 130.5 overs. For Kiwis, Tim Southee took three wickets for 69 runs in 25.5 overs. Then, in reply, New Zealand openers had a fantastic start. They finished day two after scoring 165 runs without losing any wickets in 47 overs. They are currently trailing by 273 runs. Devon Conway finished the day after scoring 82* runs off 156 balls, including 12 fours. While Tom Latham scored 78* runs off 126 balls, including eight fours. Fans were not happy as Pakistan’s bowlers failed to get a single breakthrough.
