Team India are currently busy playing the three-match T20I series in New Zealand after the 20-20 World Cup. Senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli took a rest from this tour. Therefore, Hardik Pandya got the opportunity to lead the team in this series. However, the first match of the series got abandoned in Wellington due to heavy rain.

Then, in the second match, Hardik Pandy guide team India to a victory of 65-run. However, all eyes were on the wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant. Team India again went with him over the likes of Sanju Samson. But, he failed again as he scored only six runs off 13 balls, including only one four.

Ahead of the last match of the series, there were reports that India were looking to play Sanju Samson. But, again they went with Rishabh Pant over him. So, fans were hoping to see him score big runs in this match. But, Pant failed again to put smiles on his fans’ faces. He scored only 11 runs off five balls, including four balls against the Kiwis. Thus, in this series, he managed only 17 runs in two matches. Speaking of the match, New Zealand got bundled out for 160 runs in 19.4 overs. In reply, Pant came out to open the innings. But, he managed only 11 runs off six balls.

However, in recent times, Pant lost his place in the team, especially in the 20-over format. In the recently concluded World Cup, he played only two games. In those two matches, he batted in the middle order and scored just nine runs. Before that event, he played two practice games against the Western Australia XI. In those matches, Pandit failed to score despite batting as an opener. So, fans were disappointed with his contribution. Still, he failed to score in this series again. Fans were not happy after another failure of the wicketkeeper.
