India defeated Ireland in the first T20I match of their series by seven wickets. The team captained by Hardik Pandya had a near-perfect game as they were at the top in all departments. The game was set up brilliantly by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who troubled the batters with his swing early on. He got a wicket in the first over of the game, but another incident caught everyone's eyes in the match.

On the first ball of the match, the pacer clocked a speed of 201 kmph. Later in that over, he bowled at a pace of 208 kmph. The fans were in shock as they thought that he had broken the world record of the fastest delivery. Shoaib Malik, a former Pakistani cricketer, holds the record for the quickest ball ever delivered in international cricket (161.3 kmph).

As it turns out, a technical glitch in the match had shown Kumar bowling over 200 kmph. However, this led to some hilarious posts on Twitter. "Woooo Too Much To Handle How Could I Miss This Match Ball Bowled At 208 Kms Speed By @BhuviOfficial Mind Boggling. Congrats," a fan unaware of the reality wrote.

The Indian team got early breakthroughs in the match, which was reduced to 12 overs, putting Ireland under pressure. However, Harry Tector pulled back the game for the hosts as he scored a brilliant half-century. The right-hander played an attacking game and scored 64 runs in 33 balls in the team's score of 108 runs.

Deepak Hooda was promoted to open the innings with Ishan Kishan in the chase. He played a brilliant knock in the game. Hardik Pandya also supported him well after two early wickets. The two added 64 runs in the partnership. Hooda remained not out on 47 runs in 29 balls to win the match for India in the 10th over.

With this, India took a 1-0 lead in the two-match T20I series. The next match will be played on the 28th of April at the same venue, Malahide Cricket Club.
