David Miller has continued his exceptional form from the Indian T20 League 2022 into the international matches. In the opening T20I match of South Africa's tour of India, he produced an outstanding knock to put his team in the lead. He scored 64 runs in 31 balls, with four fours and five sixes in the innings.
In order to limit him in the next match, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has come up with a humorous idea. He stated that he hoped the South African team management would drop him from the starting lineup. However, he said that they would not do so, and admitted that bowling to him will be a challenge.
"It is difficult bowling to Miller. He is in such good form. Main toh chahunga South Africa unhe drop kar de par wo aisa karenge nahi (I would want South Africa to drop him but they would not do so.) He batted so well in the IPL, we know his calibre. Bowling to him would be a challenge," Kumar said in the press conference.
The pacer was at the receiving end of the fire from Miller in the 18th over of the game. He was struck for 22 runs by the southpaw. Kumar admitted that India's bowling was below par in the first match and that he was confident of the team bouncing back.
"It was the first match of the series and everybody was coming out of the IPL, almost everyone in the team had a good IPL. Everyone knows what needs to be done and things to improve on. We are aware that we didn’t bowl well in the first match. So we hope to improve, bowl well and level the series. We still have four matches to go, we have matches in hands to bounce back," he added.
