Bhuvneshwar Kumar still hasn't searched for the accurate words to clarify how he felt when Sachin Tendulkar got out at duck on his ball in first-class cricket.
The historical moment came in 2009. This was when he was representing Uttar Pradesh as a 19-year-old fast pacer. Bhuvneshwar bowled a shaper that took an inside edge from the bat of Tendulkar just to settle into the sheltered hands of the fielder.
“It was a fortunate moment for me to get him out. I really cannot explain it in words. These are the kind of moments which you can just feel and cannot explain,” Bhuvneshwar said in a webinar organised by GainAccess Sports & Entertainment and SportzPower.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar walks down memory lane
Since then, Bhuvneshwar has become a world-class bowler, having to play for India in all three formats of cricket. He likewise credits his UP skipper of that time and another ex-Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif for getting Tendulkar dismissed.
Bhuvi also remembered about another incident, how he purposely remained back at his hotel room. It was till Tendulkar came out of his room. He could join the legendary cricketer in the lift to watch his custom before the day's play had started. The 30-year old cricketer said that they were staying in the same hotel during that match.
He also went on telling that inside the lift, he was observing Sachin while Sachin was engrossed in his mobile. Bhuvi was watching in wonder and was trying to observe his actions before the match. On the crease, when he was to bowl at Sachin, he was simply considering that he had to bowl Sachin now. He couldn’t focus on how he was going to bowl. According to Bhuvi, it was the best moment of his life.
