Team India are currently busy playing the T20I and ODI series in New Zealand. However, the Men in Blue had a disappointing end in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. In the semi-final, England thrashed them out of the completion by 10 wickets. However, India managed to win the T20I series by a scoreline of 1-0.

Now, Shikhar Dhawan will lead team India in the three-match ODI series. All big-name players have taken a rest during this whole tour. However, fans were hoping to see Sanju Samson in the T20I series. But, the Indian team management again ignored him, and fans were left fuming. Now, fans have started to blame castism on team India for ignoring certain players despite their performances.

Fans started to blame team India for the viral Caste influence

Fans have started to blame team India management for not considering players like Suryakumar Yadav, and Sanju Samson in the final squad for the ODI series in Bangladesh. Fans have shared that only Hindu Brahmins got the nod when it comes to an opportunity to represent the Men in Blue. As per a recent survey, no male Dalitcricketerhas played test cricket for India. So, fans have raised a request to have a reservation quota for the team India’s selection.

In India, upper-caste domination has been observed in Test cricket. It has been found that the team see 50-60% Brahmin players on many occasions. The famous 2008 Sydney Test is an example of when there were six Brahmins in the eleven. So, now seeing the ignorance of players like Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson in the upcoming tour, fans were not happy. They reacted to this viral Caste influence on team India’s selection. However, in the recently concluded T20I series in New Zealand, Suryakumar Yadav won the player of the series award. He scored 124 runs in that series, including a blistering knock of 111* runs off 51 balls in the second match.
