Team India are currently in New Zealand for the three-match T20I series. The Men in Blue lost their semi-final against England in the 20-20 World Cup. After that humiliating loss, this series was a fresh start for team India. Big-name players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli took a rest from this series.

So, Hardik Pandya got the opportunity to lead team India. Meanwhile, the first game of the series got abandoned due to heavy rain in Wellington on 18 November. On 20 November, team India locked horns with the Kiwis in Mount Maunganui. Speaking of the match, Hardik Pandya lost the toss and Williamson asked team India to bat first.

India scored 50 runs for one wicket in 6.4 overs against the Kiwis before rain struck

At the toss, Hardik Pandya confirmed that Sanju Samson did not manage a place in the final playing XI. Even, Shubman Gill and Umran Malik also failed to get a place. For India, Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant came out to bat. Before the match, there were threats of rain. But, the match started on time only. Pant failed again as he scored only six runs off 13 balls, including one boundary. Fans were hoping to see him in a good form. But, Pant failed miserably again despite getting a chance as the opener.

Meanwhile, the rain came and it stopped the play. Until then, team India scored 50 runs for one wicket in 6.4 overs. Ishan Kishan scored 28* runs while Suryakumar Yadav scored unbeaten six runs. But, during the break, when the broadcastar telecasted the scorecard, they showed over 60.5 instead of 6.4. Fans did not miss that mistake from the broadcastar as they pointed it out and made fun of it. They came up and shared their views on different social media platforms. However, after a small break, the game restarted and India scored 75 runs for two wickets in the first 10 overs.
