Former Indian cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar has come up with a very hard and fast-lined statement for the Indian selectors and the Indian Cricket Board. Notably, Vengsarkar had also been the chief selector of the Indian Cricket Team in the past. But he didn’t look happy with the way the selectors are approaching the selection of Team India for the last six to seven years.

“The unfortunate part is that the selectors I have seen over the last six-seven years neither have the vision, deep knowledge about the game, or cricketing sense. They made Shikhar Dhawan India captain (when tours overlapped and main players were unavailable); it is where you can groom the future captain,” said Vengsarkar to the Hindustan Times.

“You haven’t groomed anybody. You just play as it comes. You talk about the richest cricket board in the world, where is the bench strength? Just having IPL, earning crores of rupees in media rights, it should not be the only achievement,” he added later.

This statement from the 1983 World Cup winner batter came up as an opportunity for the fans to brutally troll the Indian Cricket Board and Indian selectors for their ignorance towards the talented players for a long period of time.  Fans immediately took to Twitter and came up with some harsh trolling remarks on the micro-blogging site Twitter for Indian Cricket Board and selectors.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Talking about Team India’s recent performances, they faced a humiliating defeat recently in the World Test Championship 2023 final against Australia. The Aussies completely outplayed Rohit Sharma’s men and won the WTC 2023 title clash by a big margin of 209 runs to become the new World Test Champions.

Now, Team India is scheduled to tour West Indies for the upcoming two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is to be played in the upcoming months of July and August 2023.
