Chennai is all set to take on Bangalore in the 22nd encounter of the Indian T20 League on the 12th of April. One of the most successful teams in the tournament, Chennai has not been at its best this season. Having lost all of their four games this season, the men in yellow find themselves at the bottom of the points table. They have a few issues that they would want to address within the team this season. Here are the changes that Chennai should make to win against Bangalore.
Optimum Bowling
Chennai is missing their star bowler Deepak Chahar, who is out due to injury. He has been a match-winner for them in the past and was supposed to be their main bowler. In his absence, they have been struggling to get wickets in the initial stage of the game. Dwayne Bravo has been their highest-wicket taker with six wickets in four games. Chennai bowlers will have to punch above their weight and bring out their A-game to give their team a good chance.
Building a partnership at the top
Chennai has a set of brilliant openers this season, with Robin Uthappa and Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top. Uthappa has scored a few good runs (106), including a half-century but hasn't played a real big knock. Gaikwad was brilliant for Chennai last season but he has looked off-colour this season. The two will have to make an impact together at the top of the order to be able to put Chennai in a good position against Bangalore.
Ravindra Jadeja's form
Ravindra Jadeja is leading Chennai for the first time However, his skills as a player are more important to the team. So far, the all-rounder has not been able to deliver in any of the departments. With the bat, he has scored just 66 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 120. With the ball, he has only picked one wicket so far.
Jadeja is very important for Chennai and he will have to lead the team from the front in order to give them the first win of the season.
