'Captain Babar Azam ko pasand nahi Imad Wasim' - Fans react to Imad Wasim's performance in inaugural match of CPL 2023

The Caribbean Premier League 2023 has started on a good note. The match between the Saint Lucia Kings and Jamaica Tallawahs was entertaining and had a good competition between the bat and the ball. The result was very close, as Tallawahs sealed the match only by 11 runs. The match saw very good individual performers from both teams. 

On a good wicket in St Lucia, the Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first. The captain of the Tallwahas had a memorable outing with the bat. Brandon King scored 81 runs in 53 balls, which included nine fours and three sixes. The captain did not get enough support from the other end. It was difficult to time the ball in the middle overs, as the wicket was on the slower side.  

Imad Wasim shines as an all-rounder

Imad Wasim scored 19 runs in 14 balls and helped his team to get to a total of 187 runs. For the Kings, Alazarri Joseph was exceptional with the ball. The pacer claimed two wickets and conceded only 21 runs in his four overs. Roston Chase claimed three wickets and conceded 39 runs. Fabian Allen and Kirk McKenzie played some cameos for the Tallawahs and aided their captain with the bat. 

Chasing a target of 188, St Lucia Kings had a slow start. Imad Wasim, with the new ball, did the magic. The left-arm orthodox spinner was good with his arm ball, as usual, and did not give anything to the batters. The 34-year-old got the big wicket of Faf Du Plessis and gave the early lead to the Kings. Later in the match, Wasim also claimed the wickets of Sikandar Raza and Kimani Melius. 

In his 4 overs, Wasim conceded only 27 runs and claimed 3 wickets. The efforts of the All-rounder did not go in vain, as the Tallawahs won the game by 11 runs. Chris Green assisted Imad Wasim well with his off breaks. With the help of King and Wasim, Tallawahs won the inaugural match of the season.

Westindian conditions suit him the best. He would be an integral part of 2024 WC campaign of pakistan.

But in subcontinent he struggles haven't you seen in PSL he was an ordinary contributor with ball.
