Punjab is currently taking on Mumbai at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Mumbai won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan gave Punjab the perfect start, and started striking from ball one. They played with the right intent as they started scoring from the word go. Punjab's captain Agarwal, took the responsibility to give the team a quick start.

While Dhawan kept on rotating the strike, Agarwal was attacking the bowlers. The two added 97 runs on the board for the opening partnership with Agarwal scoring his first half-century of the Indian T20 league 2022. He reached his half-century by hitting a six off Tymal Mills' bowling in the ninth over. However, he was dismissed shortly after that, as Murugan Ashwin took his wicket in the 10th over. He added 52 runs in 32 balls with six fours and two sixes in the innings. He played with a strike rate of 162.5 in the innings.

Before this innings, Agarwal had scored just 42 runs in four innings. The opener getting back to form was very important to the team as he is expected to provide them with a lot of stability at the top of the order. Meanwhile, his partner Shikhar Dhawan also scored his first half-century of the season. He added 70 runs in 50 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes.

Twitter had some great reactions to the skipper scoring his first century of the season. "Watching Mayank Agarwal play a good knock is so heartwarming," a fan wrote in a tweet.
