Caribbean Premier League 2022: Here's everything you need to know

The 2022 edition of the Caribbean Premier League begins on 31^st August 2022, while the final will be played on 30^th September 2022. The first match of the tournament sees defending champions, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots take on Jamaica Tallawahs.

Once again, a total of six teams will be participating in the tournament, namely Barbados Royals (formerly Barbados Tridents), Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Lucia Kings (formerly St Lucia Zouks), Trinbago Knight Riders, and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots.

The tournament will be played across four venues, namely Warner Park in St Kitts and Nevis, Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in St. Lucia, Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad, and Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Format:

There is a slight change in the format of the competition as opposed to last year. As far as the group stage is concerned, all the teams will play against each other twice, following the same trend as last year. However, there is a bit of a change as far as the knockout stage is concerned.

The Qualifier 1 match sees the top two teams play against each other, while the teams sitting at the third and fourth spots will take on each other in the Eliminator clash.

The winner of Qualifier 1 will progress straight to the final, with the loser meeting the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2. Winner of Qualifier 2 will meet the winner of Qualifier 1 in the final to determine the winners.
