On 10 November 2022, team India locked horns with England in the semi-final of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. The stage was set in Adelaide as both teams took on each other. Pakistan already qualified for the final by defeating New Zealand in Sydney on 9 November. So, fans were wishing for India to get qualified for the final to see another India vs Pakistan clash at the MCG on 13 November.

Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma did not win the toss and Buttler asked the Men in Blue to bat first. The Indian skipper showed faith in Rishabh Pant once again above the veteran keeper, Dinesh Karthik. For India, skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to bat.

England thrashed India by 10 wickets in the semi-final of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup

Both Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul departed early once again. KL Rahul scored only five runs off five balls. Rohit batted at a strike rate of 96.42 as he scored 27 runs off 28 balls. The Indian skipper managed only four boundaries. Virat Kohli scored 50 runs off 40 balls, at a strike rate of 125. He hit four boundaries and one six. Pandya scored 63 runs off 33 balls, including four boundaries and five sixes. He batted at a strike rate of 190.90. Thus, India managed 168 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. For England, Chris Jordan took three wickets for 43 runs in his four overs.

In reply, Jos Buttler and Alex Hales came out to open the innings. They batted brilliantly as England chased down the target in just 16 overs with all 10 wickets in the hand. Buttler scored 80* runs off 49 balls, including nine fours and three sixes. Hales also scored 86* runs off 47 balls, including four boundaries and seven fours. Thus, India got crashed out of this World Cup. Fans looked disappointed as it was another semi-final exit for the Men in Blue in major tournaments.
