In an exciting turn of events, Jamaica Tallawahs beat Barbados Royals to win the 2022 edition of the Caribbean Premier League. The finals played at the  Providence Stadium in Guyana was completely dominated by the Tallahwas as they registered an eight-wicket victory with 23 balls to spare.

The Royals won the toss and decided to bowl first, and they got off to a great start. Rahkeem Cornwall and Kyle Mayers got the powerplay off to a fast start, scoring 63 runs. Fabian Allen got the first break for Tallahwas with Cornwall's (36) wicket. Mayers (29) also departed early, leaving the team with a score of 69 in 7.3 overs.

Azam Khan (51) then did well to get some runs under his belt and score a half-century, but he had a very low strike rate. He did not get much support from his teammates either. The Tallahwas kept taking regular wickets and limited the Royals to 161/7. As for the bowlers, Allen and Nicholson Gordon took three wickets each, while Imad Wasim took one.

The team led by Rovman Powell lost an early wicket, but that did not affect them as they sailed through their innings. Brandon King and Shamarh Brooks formed a crucial partnership for the second wicket and guided the team to a score of 41 in the powerplay.

The former took on the bowlers and scored an unbeaten 83, while the latter stabilized the innings to score 47 runs. After Brooks' wicket in the 11th over, captain Rovman Powell joined the crease and supported King in the innings. Meanwhile, King kept hitting boundaries, hitting as many as 13 fours and two sixes.

The Tallahwas completely dominated the game and won the final by eight wickets and 23 balls to spare. This title win for them comes after a gap of six years. They have previously won the titles in 2013 and 2016. Fans on Twitter were overjoyed with the victory and couldn't keep their emotions in check as congratulatory messages poured in.
