Chennai has not got off to a good start in the Indian T20 League 2022. They missed out on the services of Deepak Chahar before the start of the tournament and then went on to lose their first two matches of the season. And now, it has been understood that two other team members will miss out on a few matches for Chennai.
Adam Milne and Chris Jordan, Chennai's other seam bowlers, are also suffering from some issues. Jordan is suffering from a tonsil infection and was taken to a Mumbai hospital on March 26th, where he has to stay for six days. Adam Milne, on the other hand, participated in the opening match against Kolkata but was subsequently injured, forcing him to miss the match against Lucknow.
Chennai is also missing out on their star pacer, Deepak Chahar. He suffered from a quads injury in February during a bilateral series against West Indies. Chennai is now left with no experienced pacers in their squad. They played with Mukesh Choudhary and Tushar Deshpande as their full-time pacers against Lucknow.
This did not work out too well for them as both went for big runs. Choudhary conceded 33 runs in 3.3 overs and Deshpande conceded 40 runs in 4 overs. As a result, Chennai was not able to defend a huge total of 210 in the game.
Chennai has no other options left in the side and it is expected that they might go ahead with the same playing XI in the next match. Their next game is against Punjab on the 3rd of April at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Their fast bowling all-rounders, Dwayne Bravo and Dwayne Pretorious will now have to take up the responsibility.
