The Indian T20 League 2023 is the next edition of the rich-vein league in India as global players will come again to showcase their talents. However, the Chennai franchise is the second-most successful franchise in this league. But, in the last edition, Chennai failed to qualify for the last four.
They completed the tournament in the ninth position with just eight points in 14 matches. They also had some captaincy issues throughout that season. Initially, they gave it to Ravindra Jadeja, and then, the baton went back to MS Dhoni again. But, after such a poor season, several rumours were there that Ravindra Jadeja will join a new team ahead of the next season.
Chennai might look to trade Ravindra Jadeja with Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur from Delhi - Reports
Recent reports suggested that Ravindra Jadeja has not responded to any messages from Chennai in recent months. So, the franchise might look to release him for the mini-auction in December 2022. On the other hand, reports also suggested that Delhi are looking to release Shardul Thakur along with two more players ahead of the next season.
Now, as per reports, Chennai are looking to trade Ravindra Jadeja with Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur from Delhi ahead of the next edition. However, the Indian Cricket Board have already asked all franchise to submit retained players' final list by 15 November 2022. According to previous reports, the tentative date for that auction might be 16 December 2022.
However, the transfer or trade window will remain open till one week before the auction. Then, it will re-open after the conclusion of the proposed auction in mid-December. Speaking about performances, Ravindra Jadeja played 10 matches for Chennai. In those matches, he scored 116 runs and took five wickets with the ball. Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur played 14 matches for Delhi. He scored 120 runs and grabbed 15 wickets while bowling. Along with him, Axar Patel played 13 matches for Delhi. He scored 182 runs and took six wickets while bowling.
