India will clash against New Zealand in the World Test Championship final in Southampton next month. Cheteshwar Pujara believes that his side will put up a good performance against the Kiwis.

Indian batsmen have struggled against the pacers of New Zealand in recent years. It has especially happened in away from home matches when the surface has had something to offer. Team India also lost a Test series in New Zealand last year.

Cheteshwar Pujara stated that the Indian Team is aware of their opponent's bowling attack. The bowling lineup of New Zealand is well balanced. The player of Team India has faced their bowlers before. They have some idea of how the New Zealand bowlers operate and the angel that they use. The India team would be prepared accordingly for the final match.

Pujara further shared his thoughts on the WTC final and the New Zealand team. He stated that the India team had a remarkable journey in the last two years. India has played well and qualified for the final. Everyone is looking forward to the summit clash. The WTC final between India and New Zealand would be a clash between two evenly matched sides. It would be a good game.

The 33-year-old batsman also does not buy into the speculation that India’s loss last year would give a psychological edge to the Kiwis. It would not give any kind of advantage to New Zealand. Pujara opined that the 2020 match gave New Zealand a home ground advantage. But the WTC final would be at a neutral venue. The India team has their bases covered for the final. His team has the ability to beat any team in the world if they to their full potential.

Team India was defeated in their last test in Southampton against England in 2018

After the WTC final, India will play against England in a five-match test series. The last time India was in England, they lost 4-1 to their opponents. Cheteshwar Pujara is confident the team can beat England this time around. He further admitted that the current Indian team has the strongest bench strength. Everyone in the Indian squad selected to go to England is hungry to do well.

Team India is going to begin their England tour with the WTC final on June 18th. The Test series against England would begin on August 4 in Nottingham.
