Ahead of the 20-20 World Cup in Australia, team India are currently in that country for better preparations. After having a dismal Asia Cup campaign, India hosted Australia and South Africa in two T20I series respectively. However, India managed to win both series by a margin of 2-1. Then, they reached Australia for the mega event.

Team India will play two warm-up matches before the World Cup in Brisbane. Against Australia, they will play on 17 October. Then, they will play against New Zealand on 19 October 2022. However, before those matches, India managed to play two more warm-up matches against Western Australia-XI in Perth.

After winning the first match, India lost the second warm-up match against Western Australia-XI by 36 runs

The Men in Blue took on the Western Australia side in the first warm-up match on 10 October 2022. While batting first, India scored 158 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. In response, the home side managed only 145 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Indian bowlers had a good day as Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers. He took three wickets for six runs in three overs. So, after that win, the visitors were looking to continue their momentum ahead of the 20-20 World Cup in the coming weeks.

But, on 13 October 2022, India failed to win against the same side. They lost the match by 36 runs while chasing a target of 169 runs. Despite having Rohit Sharma in the team, KL Rahul was the captain of the match. Rahul won the toss and asked the home side to bat first. They posted a total of 168 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, only skipper KL Rahul scored 74 runs off 55 balls. All other batters failed miserably as India managed only 132 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Hence, India dealt a massive blow just before the World Cup with this defeat. Fans also did not like the way India got defeated as they shared their views on Twitter.
