Only one day is left in the start of the Commonwealth Games extravaganza in Birmingham. A total of 215 athletes from India will represent their country in multiple sports. Notably, this number doesn't include India Women's Cricket Team, who will also participate for the first time. After all, cricket returned to the event after 1998. 24 years ago, Men's teams from different countries participated with South Africa clinched the Gold Medal. This time around, the Women's teams are participating.
Meanwhile, India's campaign for medals will start with a Group A game against Australia in cricket on July 29. On the next day, Nitender Rawat will participate in the Men's Marathon event. On July 31, India and Pakistan cricket teams will locks horns and this might be the most watched game in the entire event. After this, multiple athletes from different sports will represent the Asian country on August 2. On the next day, Aishwarya B will represent India in Triple Jump.
On the same day, India cricket team will play their last game against Barbados. India's campaign, according to the current schedule, will end on August 5 and 6. If some of them progress to the medal matches, they will have an opportunity to win a medal.
