England's men's director of cricket Ashley Giles is confident that players and staff members have not breached any protocols. ECB on Tuesday announced that three players and four staff members of the England cricket team have tested positive for Covid-19. The board also declared that the current squad would have to go under a mandatory quarantine period.

As a result, the team management had to choose a completely different squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan. The first-choice team is currently in isolation. England all-rounder Ben Stokes is going to lead England in the ODI series against Pakistan. The Eoin Morgan-led side recently played the limited-over series against Sri Lanka. So far, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has not made any announcements if any of their cricketers have been affected by the virus.
