Chris Gayle, Shakib al Hasan, and Faf du Plessis are likely to make a comeback in the 2021 Caribbean Premier League. The T20 tournament is going to be played in St Kitts & Nevis from August 28 to September 19. West Indies batsman Gayle will be back with St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. He has earlier represented the team back in 2017 and 2018. The Universe Boss helped the Patriots to their only Hero CPL final in his first year with the team. Gayle, who is presently the leading run-scorer in T20 history, will bring a lot of experience to the Patriots squad.

The 2021 season of the Caribbean Premier League will have 33 matches

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is currently the world's leading spin all-rounder. He will be re-joining the Jamaica Tallawahs for the 2021 season after playing for the franchise in 2016 and 2017. After that, he had moved to Barbados Tridents in 2019 and also won the title with them. On the other hand, South African batsman Du Plessis will be plying his trade for the St Lucia Zouks this season. The former South Africa skipper has been in great form in recent months for Chennai Super Kings at the Indian Premier League. He scored four consecutive half-centuries for the Yellow Army. This also includes 95 not out against Kolkata Knight Riders. This is going to be his second stint at the CPL, as he had earlier played for the Patriots in 2016.

The 2021 season of the Caribbean Premier League will comprise 33 matches. All the games of the T20 tournament will be played at Warner Park, St Kitts, because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2020, the contest was conducted in Trinidad and Tobago, and all matches were played at the Queen's Park Oval and the Brian Lara Stadium.

St Kitts and Nevis government had announced that fans would be allowed at the venue. However, only 50 percent of tickets will be sold, and all people who are coming to watch the game must be vaccinated against Covid-19. Trinbago Knight Riders are the defending champions. The side defeated St Lucia Zouks by eight wickets in the 2020 final. The other teams participating in the competition are Barbados Tridents, Guyana Amazon Warriors, St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots, St. Lucia Zouks, and Jamaica Tallawahs.
