Love has no boundaries as history has witnessed age, race, gender and relation becoming invalid when it comes to romance. We have picked the following three cricketers who made the headlines after getting married to their cousins and are cherishing a beautiful relationship.
1. Shahid Afridi and Nadia Afridi
The famous Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has been married to Nadia Afridi since 2000. After breaking into Pakistani’s national team at the age of just 16, the batting all-rounder hitched to his maternal cousin Nadia Afridi.
Shahid and Nadia are maternal cousins and according to reports, were also childhood friends. It was reported that the cricketer’s father was the one to pick Nadia as a bride to his son who was making the stride in a cricketing world in the late 90s. Nadia was only 16 and Shahid was 20 during their marriage.
There is very little information available on Nadia but the couple showed a great commitment to their love with various public appearances and are proud parents to five daughters Aqsa, Ansha, Ajwa, Asmara, and Arwa. Notably, their eldest daughter Ansha recently got married to star bowler Shaheen Afridi.
