India plays Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup 2023 game on Wednesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This means that Virat Kohli and Naveen ul Haq will square off once again.

An on-field disagreement between the experienced Indian batsman and the speedster from Afghanistan in the 2023 IPL this year snowballed into the greatest controversy of the T20 league season.

On May 1, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, during the IPL 2023 match between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), a horrific event occurred. RCB batted first and scored 126/9, which was a great total on that slow pitch.

During the chase, Naveen batted for Lucknow, and he and Kohli got into an intense argument. According to sources, Kohli's advice that the bowler should throw down several bouncers to the tailender infuriated the Afghanistan fast bowler. Neither of the players was prepared to back down as they exchanged jabs with one another.

But the story didn't end there. Instead, it had only just started. When the game was over and Bangalore had won by 18 runs, Kohli and Naveen got into another heated argument at the traditional post-game handshakes.

A little while later, it appeared like LSG captain KL Rahul was attempting to mediate. He tried to sort out the situation involving the two. However, the Afghanistan bowler was uninterested and left which suggests that the incident was more heated than imagined.

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambir were involved in heated arguments as well!

The fight between Kohli and LSG coach Gautam Gambhir, who have both previously engaged in on-field altercations, was obviously the worst. In what resembled a WWE kind of moment, Gambhir and Kohli engaged in a very unpleasant argument.

Players from both camps attempted to calm the situation but without success. Naveen, Kohli, as well as Gambhir were consequently penalised for violating the IPL code of conduct.
