Young New Zealand batting all-rounder Rachin Ravindra continued his sensational run of form with the bat and is now in the Test format. The young Southpaw smashed his career’s maiden Test century on the first day of the first Test of the two-match series against South Africa. Rachin went unbeaten at the time of stumps on the day with an individual score of 118 runs, hitting 13 fours and a six with the bat.
He also stitched an amazing and unbeaten partnership of 219 runs for the third wicket with the former skipper Kane Williamson. Besides Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson also played a century-knock, scoring 112 runs, with 15 fours.

On the back of these two knocks, New Zealand posted a good total of 258 runs for the loss of 2 wickets at the time of stumps. However, the hosts faced two early blows as they lost 2 wickets to the score of 39 runs in 18.5 overs.
Coming back to Rachin Ravindra, he has been enjoying a golden run with the bat since the ODI World Cup 2023, in which he finished as the fourth leading run-scorer in the tournament; the 24-year-old scored 578 runs in 10 innings of the 10 matches he played for his side, with an outstanding average of 106.44, hitting 3 centuries and 2 half-centuries.
He was one of the vital cogs in the wheel for the Blackcaps in their run to the semi-final stage of the ODI World Cup 2023, where they lost to the hosts India.
A lot of former cricketers, including the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, alongside some others, appreciated the young Kiwi batter for his sensational arrival in international cricket. Meanwhile, the fans also lauded him after he scored his maiden Test century in the first Test against South Africa.
