“Bumrah ko chhakka maarna itna aasaan nahi hota” - Aakash Chopra mocks Sahibzada Farhan on air during IND vs SA, 1st T20I

Aakash Chopra mocked Pakistan batter Sahibzada Farhan on air during the IND vs SA 1st T20I, referencing Farhan's past claim that he could hit Jasprit Bumrah for 4-5 sixes: "Bumrah ko chhakka maarna itna aasaan nahi hota," Chopra stated, highlighting Bumrah's dominance.

After retiring from professional cricket, former Indian batter Aakash Chopra took on the role of expert and commentator. On Tuesday, December 9, he chastised Pakistani batter Sahibzada Farhan for creating a documentary after hitting star Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah for multiple sixes during the Asia Cup 2025.

After Aiden Markram hit a six, Bumrah bowled a good-length delivery on the final ball of South Africa's innings, when the team was 28/2 in the fourth over. Commentating at the time, Chopra said, “Bumrah ko chhakka maarna itna aasaan nahi hota. Kabhi lag jaaye to kuch log documentary bana lete hain [It’s not so easy to hit Bumrah for a six. If someone manages to do it once, some people even make a documentary on it].”

This was a clear jab at Sahibzada Farhan. Following Farhan's three sixes off Bumrah during the Asia Cup, a brief documentary celebrating him was produced in Pakistan. Those videos are regularly shared on social media by Farhan. Chopra made fun of Farhan without naming him.

A few weeks ago, Zed Studios in Pakistan produced a documentary titled "Hero in the Making" about Sahibzada Farhan, the opening batsman for Pakistan. The documentary focused on the right-handed batsman's performance at the Asia Cup 2025, where he became the first Pakistani batter in history to hit a six in a T20 International cricket match against the top Indian pacer, Jasprit Bumrah.

India scored an incredible 175/6 in the 20 overs they were given in the Cuttack T20I. With the aid of six boundaries and four sixes, Hardik Pandya hammered a splendid, undefeated knock of 59 runs in 28 balls at a strike rate of 210.71, as the other batters battled in the middle for a strike rate of about 110.

In just 12.3 overs, the Proteas were dismissed for 74. Pandya and Shivam Dube each took one wicket, while Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy each took two, dismantling South Africa’s batting line-up. India won by 101 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
