Ambati Rayudu’s IPL 2025 top four picks raise eyebrows as he snubs Delhi Capitals

Rayudu, who has often been accused of favouring his former team, Chennai Super Kings, left fans puzzled with his picks. The former India batter excluded Delhi Capitals from his top four and instead included Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. This move surprised many, as the Capitals are currently placed second on the points table with an impressive six wins and just two losses in eight matches.

Rayudu’s omission of DC comes amida  strong season for Axar Patel’s side

The Delhi Capitals, under the captaincy of Axar Patel, have been in dominant form throughout the tournament. Their recent win against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium further cemented their position as title contenders. With both batters and bowlers contributing match-winning performances, DC has emerged as one of the most balanced sides this season.

KL Rahul has been the standout with the bat, leading the franchise’s run-scoring charts with 323 runs so far. On the bowling front, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been exceptional, claiming 12 wickets and providing crucial breakthroughs at key moments in matches.

Despite this consistent performance, Rayudu chose to favour other franchises. His inclusion of Punjab Kings, currently in third place, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, placed fifth, has sparked criticism from fans who believe his prediction lacks objectivity.

The Capitals will be looking to silence the doubters, including Rayudu, when they take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their next fixture on Sunday, April 27. A strong showing in that game would not only further boost their playoff chances but also reinforce their credentials as one of the top contenders for the IPL 2025 trophy.
