Anvay Dravid, Rahul Dravid's younger son, has been added to Team C for the BCCI Under-19 Challenger Trophy, which will take place in Hyderabad from November 5–11.

Samit Dravid, Dravid's older son, was a member of India's Under-19 team for the bilateral home series against Australia that took place in Chennai and Pondicherry earlier in 2024. However, Samit was unable to attend the games due to an injury. Additionally, one of the four Challenger Trophy teams this time includes his younger son.

The BCCI Challenger Trophy serves as a prelude to selecting the teams for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe and Namibia next year.

Anvay Dravid led Karnataka to a quarterfinal position in the just finished Vinoo Mankad Trophy. He scored 220 runs in the six games he participated in, including an undefeated 82 and another half-century in Dehradun.

Before losing to eventual champions Hyderabad in the quarterfinals, Karnataka won four of the five games to finish second in the group stages.

Nevertheless, his highest score of 82 came against Himachal Pradesh, where he entered at No. 4 and won the chase of 236 for Karnataka. Anway's knock came off 93 deliveries, including two sixes and six boundaries. His second half-century (63 off 75) occurred during their group stage loss to Chandigarh.

Anvay has been selected as a wicketkeeper for Team C, which also consists of Yuvraj Gohil, a gloveman from Saurashtra. There are now two more wicketkeepers at the top of the hierarchy in the current Under-19 cycle.

Saurashtra-born left-handed batsman Harvansh Singh struck a century in the four-day match during India's home series against Australia. In addition to him, another aggressive batsman who has become the top option is Abhigyan Kundu of Mumbai.

Punjab’s Vihaan Malhotra leads Team A, while Kundu serves as vice captain. Team B will be led by Vedant Trivedi, with Harvansh serving as his deputy. Team C will be led by Aaron George, who led Hyderabad to the Vinoo Mankad Trophy without dropping a game.

Punjab’s Aaryan Yadav being the vice-captain. Chandrahas Dash, a key performer for Bengal, has been put in charge of Team D.
