The fifth match of the Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours will see Pakistan take on Bangladesh on September 25 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan lost their opening Super Four clash against India, though their net run rate remained largely unaffected. A victory against Bangladesh is now crucial to keep their hopes of reaching the Asia Cup 2025 final alive. A defeat, however, could all but end their campaign.

Bangladesh stunned Sri Lanka in their first Super Four outing in Dubai and will now face a Pakistan side that was comprehensively beaten by India for the second time in the tournament. With momentum on their side, Bangladesh will back themselves to secure another win and move a step closer to the final.

Here are the 3 players to watch out for in Pakistan vs Bangladesh:

1. Fakhar Zaman

Pakistan's most seasoned batsman, Fakhar Zaman, has amassed 2,194 runs in 105 Twenty20 Internationals. With a strike rate of 132.32 and a maximum score of 91, he has recorded 12 fifties. Zaman has scored 105 runs at a strike rate of 138.15 in three games of the current Asia Cup, including a fifty with a top score of 50.

Fakhar Zaman has done brilliantly in T20s and is adept against both pacers and spinners. Zaman looked in his element against India before his downfall. Bangladeshi bowlers might have a very tough time if Zaman is not dismissed early, as he can demolish any bowling attack on his day.

2. Litton Das

Litton Das, the Bangladesh captain and wicketkeeper, has scored 119 runs in three matches at a strike rate of 129.34, with a top score of 59. He has been in excellent form for Bangladesh in T20Is of late, contributing both with the bat and with the gloves behind the stumps.

Litton Das is effective against both Pakistani pacers and spinners, given how frequently they play each other. He has all the shots that bring Bangladesh the most runs and has been scoring at a healthy strike rate. He provides quick starts and can anchor the innings as well, making him a big challenge for Pakistani bowlers.

3. Mustafizur Rahman

Mustafizur Rahman leads the wicket charts for Bangladesh with seven scalps at an economy rate of 7.00, including best figures of 3/20. He has been instrumental in providing early breakthroughs during the powerplay and maintaining control with tight spells in the death overs.

Rahman is expected to be Bangladesh’s main weapon against struggling Pakistani batters. Mustafizur has the ability to make life difficult for Pakistan’s batting lineup with his array of slower balls and yorkers, and he can even push his pace up to 145 kph. It will be interesting to see how Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, and others handle Mustafizur and score runs against him.
