Asia Cup 2025 program finalized; big detail emerges about the India v Pakistan match

Although nothing specific has been decided upon yet, there are signs that a formal decision may be made the following week. Additionally, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) hopes to release the six-team tournament schedule during the first week of July, when it is anticipated to take place.

The ACC is thought to be aiming for a start in the second week of September, if everything goes as planned. More precisely, the competition, which will take place in the T20 format, is probably going to start on September 10, Cricbuzz has reported.

The competing teams will comprise Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the United Arab Emirates in addition to India and Pakistan. In actuality, some kind of tournament promotion has already started.

Asia Cup 2025 to be played at a neutral venue; India v Pakistan scenario clarified

Although there is still debate about holding the event in a hybrid format, the United Arab Emirates is still the front-runner to host it. Although India is the official host this time, the Asia Cup will be hosted in a neutral location when either India or Pakistan takes the lead, as the ACC had previously agreed for reasonable reasons.

After the April terror assault in Pahalgam, the event was thrown into disarray. After India began Operation Sindoor against Pakistan in May, things became much more heated, and the tournament's future became seriously questionable.

At multilateral gatherings, there were also increasing calls in India to boycott Pakistan. India reportedly boycotted Pakistan in international events.

Cricketing relations between the bitter adversaries seem to be here to stay, at least in world events, even though representatives from the BCCI, ACC, or ICC have not publicly addressed the issue. It's crucial to remember that these matches continue to be the key sources of income for international cricket, not just Indian cricket.

While governing bodies like the ICC, ACC, and their member boards primarily rely on the money generated by these high-profile matches, neither India nor the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is particularly dependent on it.
