Australia set to tour Pakistan for white-ball series in early 2026: CA CEO confirms

Cricket Australia (CA) has decided to send a squad to Pakistan for a white-ball series early next year. This was confirmed by CA CEO Todd Greenberg and reported by the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency on Tuesday.

In an online media exchange, CA CEO Todd Greenberg stated that talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were still in progress and that Australia was eager to travel to Pakistan for additional tours.

In 2022, Australia visited Pakistan for a full tour of 3 Tests, 3 ODIs, and one T20I. Australia won the Test series 1-0, lost the ODIs 1-2, and won the only T20I. This was the first time Australia had toured Pakistan since 1998, ending a 24-year gap in visits.

Australia keen for more tours of Pakistan and vice versa: Todd Greenberg

In an online media exchange, CA CEO Todd Greenberg stated that talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were still in progress and that Australia was eager to travel to Pakistan for additional tours.

Australia will tour Pakistan for three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) in February and March of 2026, as per the ICC's Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2025–2027.

“We are trying to schedule a red-ball and white-ball series in our program with Pakistan, where the window is available. I think the tour early next year will be a success for both boards,” Greenberg was quoted by PTI.

Greenberg stated that they desired additional exchanges whenever feasible, citing their 2022 and Champions Trophy visits to Pakistan as examples.

“We went to Pakistan in 2022 after a long time, and it was a good experience for our team, hospitality and security-wise. Teams in the Big Bash want more quality overseas players in the competition, and if some leading Pakistani players are available, I am sure they will be sought after,” he added, saying BBL teams wanted more Pakistani players in the league.
