In an unfortunate turn of events, Australia has suffered another injury blow with their all-rounder Cameron Green being ruled out of the three-match ODI series against India, which is scheduled to start on Sunday, October 19, in Perth.

Notably, Green has been ruled out of the series with a low-grade side soreness. On the other hand, in-form top-order batter Marnus Labuschagne has been called up into the squad as a replacement.

Labuschagne, who is part of the Sheffield Shield match in Adelaide, will fly to Perth on Saturday night to join the ODI squad ahead of the first match on Sunday. For the unversed, Green has been managing his bowling workload of late as per the advice given by the Cricket Australia medical staff.

He was not supposed to bowl in the first two ODIs against India. Moreover, he was expected to miss the third and final ODI against India and was also going to miss the five-match T20I series against India in order to prepare for the forthcoming Ashes series.

It’s important to note that Green will not be a part of a short rehabilitation period, and the medical staff would be hoping to have him play and bowl in Western Australia’s third Sheffield Shield game against South Australia in Perth.
