Pakistan has travelled to Australia for their three-match Test series. Babar Azam has been dropped from captaincy after his poor show in the ODI World Cup 2023. The Men in Green has performed poorly in the mega event. Babar has been under scanner after the poor show and he decided to step down from all formats of the game. Shan Masood has been named as the captain in the longest format of the game.
During the practice game against the Prime Minister's XI, the former captain did something unusual that surprised the social media globe. Shan hit the ball down the field and Babar attempted to pick up the ball with his hands as it passed the non-striker, but the shot was too far away.
Shan Masood ahead of the first Test explained who will be the first-choice wicket-keeper between Sarfaraz Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan. The newly appointed captain believes that the former will be there in the playing XI as he has performed well in red ball and the domestic circuit as well.

Cricket Australia mocks Babar Azam
Cricket Australia made fun of the former Pakistan skipper, saying, "Babar Azam keeping himself in the game at the non-striker's end...." Abdullah Shafique and captain Shan Masood put on a 58-run stand for the second wicket. The spotlight, however, was on the captain's partnership with former captain Babar Azam, who stepped in at No. 4. For the third wicket partnership, the two added 92 runs.
During a practice session ahead of the match, Saud Shakeel and Sarfaraz Ahmed had a heated exchange of words. Shakeel was heard saying in the video, "For how long will I continue to be of use to you?" In reply, Sarfaraz said, "You won't be of any use to me. To begin with, I never instructed you to do anything. I never requested you to make a swap. I swapped with the person I intended to." Shakeel replied, "You still made the swap, so I was beneficial to you."
