Bangladesh is set to host Pakistan for a three-match T20I series after creating history in Sri Lanka. They were in 0-1 down in the three-match series and ended up winning the series for the first time in the island nation.
Under Litton Das’ captaincy, Bangladesh appear to be a settled side, but their real challenge will be to be consistent across multiple series. Their confidence will be sky high at the moment after putting up a good show against Sri Lanka.
They have also retained the same squad for this series. However, it won’t be easy for them to surpass Pakistan, who defeated them 3-0 in the previous series played in May and June this year. Pakistan were the hosts then, who will now be looking to repeat the same feat yet again away from home.
Meanwhile, Pakistan continue to be without their star players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi. The team management seems to have moved on completely from them and with favourable results coming in the previous series, there was no question of changing much in the squad for them.
However, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan have been ruled out of the series due to injuries and the team will miss their experience in this series. As for the T20I series, all matches will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka and the short tour will conclude on July 24.
