BCCI announces India A One Day squad for South Africa A series; Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma not included

On Wednesday, November 5, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the strong India A one-day squad for the forthcoming three-match series against South Africa A, starting on Thursday, November 13 at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.

While Tilak Varma will lead the 14-man squad, Ruturaj Gaikwad has been appointed as his deputy. Ishan Kishan and Prabhsimran Singh have been announced as the keeper-batter options in the squad.

Unfortunately, fans will not see Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the three-match one-day series as the senior duo opted not to take part in the A series. Earlier, they decided to opt out of the ‘A’ series against Australia A as well. 

All three games will take place at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on November 13,16, and 19, respectively. Meanwhile, the senior Indian team will be playing a two-match Test series against South Africa, starting on Friday, November 14. 

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant is currently leading the India A squad in the unofficial Test series against South Africa A. They have already taken a 1–0 lead, having won the first unofficial Test by three wickets.
