In exciting news for the Indian cricketers who played in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to give a whopping prize money of INR 58 Crore for winning the showpiece event.
Notably, India bagged a four-wicket win in the grand finale over New Zealand on Sunday, March 9 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. Moreover, this prize money will also cover the coaching and support staff alongside the selection committee members, led by Ajit Agarkar.
"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is delighted to announce a cash reward of INR 58 Crore for Team India following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This financial recognition honours the players, coaching and support staff, and members of the Men’s Selection Committee," the board said in a statement.
"Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognises Team India's dedication and excellence on the global stage," said BCCI president Roger Binny in a release.
Team India also received a whopping prize money from the ICC
Along with the trophy, India also received a cash prize of $2.24 million (approximately Rs 19.45 crore) from the apex body ICC. Runners-up New Zealand got $1.2 million (approximately Rs 9.72 crore).
The semi-finalists who didn't advance, Australia and South Africa, each got $560,000 (Rs 4.86 crore). Also,, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, securing fifth and sixth place respectively were awarded $350,000 (Rs 3.04 crore) each. Pakistan and England, finishing in seventh and eighth place, took $140,000 (Rs 1.21 crore) each.
It’s important to note that each victory in the group stage carries a prize money of $34,000 (Rs 29.5 lakh). The total prize pool for the 2025 Champions Trophy was $6.9 million (Rs 59.9 crore).
