The visiting skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and asked the Kiwis to bat first. Batting first, New Zealand posted a big total of 226 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Skipper Kane Williamson and star middle-order batter Daryl Mitchell scored crucial half-centuries, scoring 57 and 61 runs, respectively. Besides Williamson and Mitchell, opener Finn Allen played a quick knock of 34 runs off just 15 balls, with 3 fours and 3 sixes.

Former skipper Babar Azam scored a crucial half-century, scoring 57 runs off 35 balls, with 6 fours and 2 sixes. But his knock couldn’t help Pakistan to chase down the target; the men in green were bundled out in 18 overs at the score of 180 runs.
