Star New Zealand batting all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has amazed everyone by announcing his sensational arrival in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.  The Wellington-born youngster made his ODI World Cup debut in New Zealand’s campaign of this tournament against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday, October 5.

Ravindra was promoted to bat at number 3 to fill in the shoes of skipper Kane Williamson who missed the first two matches as he is recovering to make himself available with complete fitness. Coming back to Rachin Ravindra, he stunned everyone with an unbeaten century in the match against England, scoring 123 runs off just 96 balls, with 11 fours and 5 sixes with the willow.

His brilliant knock, alongside senior opener Devon Conway’s unbeaten 152 runs, with 19 fours and 2 sixes, guided New Zealand to a convincing win by 9 wickets against England in their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign opener.

Rachin Ravindra won the ‘Player of the Match award for his match-defining knock in New Zealand’s favour. Not only against England in the first match, the 23-year-old continued his brilliant form in New Zealand’s ongoing second ODI World Cup 2023 match against the Netherlands.

He played a stabilised and crucial run-a-ball knock of 51 runs, hitting 3 fours and six before getting caught by the Dutch skipper and wicketkeeper Scott Edwards off Roelof van der Merwe. Rachin is currently in the second spot on the list of highest run-scorers in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 so far, just 10 runs behind his senior teammate Devon Conway.

Ravindra has scored 174 runs in 2 innings with an unbelievable average of 174.00, including only one dismissal, alongside a century and a half-century.

Speaking of the current action of the match between New Zealand and the Netherlands, the Kiwis have posted a target of 323 runs in 50 overs for the Netherlands, scoring 322 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
