Star Aussie all-rounder Cameron Green, in an exclusive chat with ESPNCricinfo, has disclosed that he would be available to bowl in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season after a goof up by his manager.
Delving into the details, Green blamed his manager for accidentally selecting the wrong box of batter instead of ticking him as the all-rounder. Furthermore, he added that it was actually a ‘stuff-up’ on his manager’s end.
"I'll be good to bowl. I don't know if my manager would like to hear this, but there was a stuff-up on his end. He didn't mean to say 'batter'. I think he accidentally selected the wrong box. It was pretty funny how it's all played out, but it was actually a stuff-up on his end." Green told ESPNCricinfo.
Additionally, Green also asserted that he would be watching the mini-auction on the night before the third Ashes 2025-26 Test against England, adding that he is keen to see where his teammates would go.
"I'm sure I will be [watching], with a few other guys. They're always good fun to watch. It's a bit of a lottery where you might go, but also who might be in your team, so it's always been fun to watch,” he concluded.
For the unversed, Green previously played for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2023 and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2024, but missed IPL 2025 season while recovering from back surgery. In the IPL 2026 mini-auction, he has been listed with a base price of INR 2 crore.
He returned to international cricket in June 2025 as a specialist batter. However, he has been cleared to bowl for Australia in the ongoing Ashes 2025-26 series against England.
