Champions Trophy 2025: India vs Bangladesh head to head record in ODIs

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 is set to commence on February 19 and India will kick off their campaign against Bangladesh in Dubai on February 20. India are drawn in Group A with their Asian neighbours Pakistan and Bangladesh and former champions New Zealand.

Rohit Sharma’s men will take on Bangladesh in their first match before facing comparatively tougher opponents, Pakistan and New Zealand. Bangladesh, placed 9th in the ICC ODI team rankings, enter the ninth edition of the tournament without retired Tamim Iqbal and star cricketers Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das and are unlikely to cause an upset against the top-ranked Indian side.

However, the Indian management is expected to field their strongest possible eleven against Bangladesh after some shocking results in the last few games. Bangladesh will also look to gain some inspiration from their recent positive results against India ahead of their 42nd meeting.

India vs Bangladesh head-to-head record in ODIs

India and Bangladesh have faced each other 41 times in ODI cricket since their first meeting in 1988. The Men in Blue dominated their neighbours by winning their first 12 encounters and currently lead the head-to-record by a superior margin.

India have won 32 of 41 ODI matches played against Bangladesh so far, with one game being washed out due to rain in Mirpur in 2014. India recorded a dominant seven-wicket win when they last played against Bangladesh in ODIs during the 2023 World Cup group-stage game in Pune, where Virat Kohli registered his 48th century.

However, Bangladesh have won three of their last four ODI meetings against India, including a thrilling six-run win in the 2023 Asia Cup game in Colombo.
