Bangladesh recently announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is being hosted by Pakistan and has returned after a wait of eight long years. As a result, every team would be eyeing to win this prized possession. Here are three players who could have been important in displaying a good effort from Bangladesh.

1. Shakib Al Hasan

The best all-rounder and player produced by the Bangladeshi soil, Shakib al Hasan, has been left out of the squad as announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The star-all-rounder was suspended by ICC a while ago from bowling in ICC events. He failed the second test of independent assessment of his action as well.

It has been said that his exclusion from the team comes along the same lines as his suspension but there have been rumours relating to the political unrest in the country as well.

He has been the most important player in the Bangladeshi team for over a decade and the unavailability of his services is going to sting the team and affect the performance.

2. Litton Das

Another big name that has been left out of the squad is that of the star wicketkeeper batter, Litton Das. His dry run of form has been the speculated reason behind his exclusion from the team.

The 29-year-old has not looked great in the One Day Internationals for a while now and has not been able to score even a single half-century in his last 13 innings, with the last coming in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He even has been dismissed on single-digit scores six times in his last seven innings.

The decision to leave him out did not come up as too big of a surprise due to his poor form.

3. Hasan Mahmud

Hasan garnered a lot of attention, especially in the red-ball format of the game, first during the Pakistan tour and then on the India tour. His impeccable bowling with tight line and length kept everyone in awe of his bowling.

He has a good job in the few One Day Internationals that he has played so far. He has scalped 31 wickets with an average of 32.74 in 23 games. He has shown himself to be a great outfielder as well, a rare combination of a fast bowler and a good fielder.
