North Zone and Central Zone qualify for Duleep Trophy 2025-26 semi-finals after dominant first-innings leads. South and West Zones await in knockout clashes.

In the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2025-26 season, North Zone & Central Zone advanced to the semi-finals after taking the first innings lead. While North Zone will lock horns with South Zone in the first semi-final, Central Zone will take on West Zone in the second semi-final.

Delving into the details of the North Zone vs East Zone quarter-final fixture, the former batted first and posted a daunting total of 405 runs in 93.2 overs. 

Keeper-batter Kanhaiya Wadhawan was the top-scorer, amassing 76 runs in 152 balls, while Ayush Badoni hit 63 runs in 60 balls, with Auqib Nabi hitting 44 runs in 33 balls down the order. Left-arm spinner Manishi scalped a six-wicket haul for East Zone.

In response, East Zone could score only 230 runs before getting bundled out in 56.1 overs. Virat Singh was the top scorer with 69 runs from 102 balls as North Zone bagged a huge lead in the first innings. Pacer Auqib Nabi was exceptional with a five-wicket haul.

In the third innings, North Zone had an exceptional time yet again as they amassed 658/4d in 146.2 overs. Captain Ankit Kumar missed out on his double ton by two runs as he scored 198 runs in 321 balls, while Ayush Badoni smacked 204* runs in 223 balls, with Yash Dhull hitting 133 runs in 157 balls. The match ended in a draw.

On the other hand, Central Zone batted first against North East Zone in the second quarter-final, scoring 532/4d in 102 overs. Danish Malewar was the star batter, amassing 203 runs in 222 balls, while captain Rajat Patidar amassed 125 runs in 96 balls.

In response, the North East Zone got all out for 185 runs in 69.3 overs as Aditya Thakare scalped three wickets, with Khaleel Ahmed and Harsh Dubey picking up two wickets apiece. Later, Central Zone batted again and posted 331/7d in 80.3 overs. Shubham Sharma smacked 122 runs in 215 balls. In the fourth innings, North East Zone were at 200/6 in 58 overs before the game concluded in a draw.
