Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has stated that the familiar Indian conditions would definitely work in his national team’s favour at the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, starting on February 7, in India and Sri Lanka.

Speaking at an event, while featuring in the World Legends Pro T20 League in Goa, Bravo backed the current West Indies squad's experience and balance. Notably, Bravo is currently representing Pune Panthers in the campaign.

"The squad has a lot of power and plenty of experience. Players like Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell and Brandon King are there, and Shai Hope is leading the side. Akeal Hosein is one of the best T20 bowlers in the world," Bravo said at an event.

"There is youth as well as players like Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph. It's a good mix overall. A lot of the players have played in India through the IPL, and the conditions are quite similar. Hopefully, that gives them a good chance in the tournament," he observed.

Speaking about his time in Goa, Bravo said he was excited to be part of the tournament. Interestingly, the Panthers started the competition with a four-wicket win over the Gurugram Thunders.

"It's a place I have always wanted to visit. I've heard a lot of good things about it from other players, and it feels very Caribbean-like,” he concluded.

On Monday, January 26, the West Indies announced their T20 World Cup squad, which will be led by Shai Hope.

West Indies squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026: Shai Hope (c), Shimron Hetmyer, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Gudakesh Motie, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Quentin Sampson, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd.
